SRG Global’s Asset Remediation division has a proven track record of delivering upgrade and strengthening projects for the Department of Transport (Victoria) at the West Gate Bridge. Our work has included multiple contracts to supply and install custom-fabricated steel brackets to support the bridge’s concrete viaduct and deck to spans 10 & 15 as well as spans 1 to 9 and 22 to 27. Utilising innovative access systems, such as vertical and cantilever platforms, we were able to complete the work without disrupting road traffic.
Our team also enhanced the bridge’s security by installing protective steel structures around critical piers and executed comprehensive strengthening at Pier 13, including the installation of reinforcement plates and an advanced paint system. In addition, we have also delivered steel maintenance treatments to the steel box girder section of the West Gate Bridge spanning the Yarra River since 2023. With extensive experience on the West Gate Bridge since 2007, SRG Global has successfully undertaken crack injection, concrete repair, protective coatings, and carbon fibre strengthening, ensuring the long-term maintenance and enhancement of this critical infrastructure.
